Terms of Service

These terms cover using jsondevtools.org: a set of free, browser-based developer tools built and run by Pasindu Ishan (see the About page). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the site.
1. Using the tools
The tools are free to use for personal and commercial work alike. You don't need an account, and you may use a tool's output (a formatted document, a converted file, a generated schema, and so on) in your own projects without attribution.
2. Using the written content
The articles, error guides and reference pages, the site's design, and its source code are copyrighted and remain the property of JSON Dev Tools (the "All rights reserved" notice in the footer). You're welcome to quote a short excerpt with a link back to the source page. Without asking first, please don't:
- Republish or mirror an article, error guide or reference page on another site
- Copy the site's design or source code to build a competing product
- Scrape the site in bulk, or at a rate that affects its availability for other visitors
- Decompile or reverse engineer the site's code beyond what the law allows
- Remove copyright or attribution notices from the content
3. No warranty
The site and its tools are provided "as is." I don't promise they are error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose, and I don't warrant that the content is accurate, complete or current — software and error messages change, and a page can fall behind. If you find something wrong, please tell me; corrections are treated as a priority.
4. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or its tools — including loss of data, income or profit — even if I've been told such damage is possible. Nothing here limits liability the law does not allow to be limited.
5. Links to other sites
Pages on this site link to external sites, mostly official documentation cited as a source. I haven't reviewed every linked site and I'm not responsible for its content. A link isn't an endorsement, and visiting a linked site is at your own risk.
6. Changes to these terms
I may revise these terms as the site changes. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the current version, which is why the "Last updated" date above is kept current.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of your jurisdiction of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
8. Your input and content
The JSON and other data you enter into a tool is processed in your browser and is not sent to or stored on a server I operate. Some input, such as the JSON Formatter's input box, is saved in your own browser's local storage on your device; see the Privacy Policy for exactly what and how to clear it. You keep all rights to your content. If you send feedback or a suggestion, you're giving me permission to use it to improve the site.
9. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Use the site for an illegal purpose or in violation of applicable law
- Harass, threaten or abuse anyone through the site
- Automate access to the site beyond ordinary, occasional scripted use (see section 2 on bulk scraping)
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site's systems
- Transmit a virus, malware or other harmful code through the site
10. Suspending access
If a visitor's use of the site clearly breaches these terms, for example sustained scraping that degrades the site for others, I may block that access without prior notice.
